At Jotmans Hall Primary School, we believe that every child deserves the very best start to their education. Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provides a happy, nurturing and inspiring environment where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn. We know that children learn best when they are happy and engaged, so we build strong relationships with every child and work closely with parents and carers to ensure they feel confident, supported and ready to flourish.
Our experienced and dedicated team creates a rich learning environment that sparks curiosity, encourages independence and celebrates every child's unique personality and interests. Through a balance of purposeful play, carefully planned teaching and meaningful real-life experiences, children develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning. Whether they are building, creating, exploring outdoors, sharing stories or discovering new ideas, every day is filled with opportunities to learn through fun, hands-on experiences.
Reading, communication and language are at the heart of everything we do. We nurture a lifelong love of books through daily stories, songs, rhymes and conversations, while our systematic synthetic phonics programme gives children the strong foundations they need to become successful readers, and writers. We also place great importance on developing children's social and emotional wellbeing; helping them to build friendships, manage their emotions, solve problems and become kind, caring members of our school community.
Every child is encouraged and supported to achieve their personal best. Through careful observation and high-quality teaching, we tailor learning to meet each child's individual needs, ensuring they are challenged, celebrated and supported every step of the way. Our stimulating indoor and outdoor learning spaces evolve alongside children's interests and levels of development; inspiring them to play, explore, investigate and think creatively and critically.
We are proud of the warm, welcoming atmosphere in our EYFS and the strong partnerships we build with families from the very beginning. Together, we create the foundations for confident, happy learners who leave Reception well prepared for Year 1 and equipped with the skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to continue their learning journey.
