As the final lesson in our Anglo Saxons and Vikings topic this term, Oak class attempted to change History! We learnt about the 3 contenders for the throne after the death of Edward the Confessor - Harald Hardrada, Harold Godwinson and William of Normandy - and decided to hold an election to see if we could change the course of History! In teams, we planned an election campaign for each candidate, that involved speeches from the candidiates themselves, speeches from contemporaries, campaign songs (indcluding some fantastic rapping from the boys,) posters and rosettes. The children worked extremely hard in their groups and resulting presentations were excellent. William won - but only by 2 votes! Thanks to Mrs Attrill for all her help with this.
