Online Safety

Keeping children safe when using new technologies is of paramount importance to Jotmans Hall Primary School; E-safety is something that we monitor and revisit regularly.

Please read the guide from the Children’s Commissioner, Dame Rachel de Souza, called:

'What I wish my parents or carers knew....' (Click to read the guide)

'Parenting today can feel overwhelming — especially when childhood looks so different from what we grew up with. There’s no manual, and it can be hard to keep up with the fast-changing digital world your child moves through every day. This guide aims to make those conversations easier and help you support your child with confidence.'

Jotmans Hall Computing Curriculum

The online world is an integral part of society and access to the internet is now available like never before. However, there are inherent risks associated with new technologies, and we aim to teach children to understand how to reduce these risks.

The school’s computing curriculum covers the following aspects of E-safety:

  • The risks posed to children online (content/contact)
  • How children can protect themselves (conduct)
  • What children should do if they have any concerns (content/contact)
