About Jotmans Hall Primary School

Jotmans Hall Primary School was opened in January 1973, we became Grant Maintained in 1997 and converted to Academy status in 2011.

We work closely with our partner schools as part of the Benfleet and Thundersley Inter-schools Cluster and have been involved in training new teachers through the Benfleet Teaching Schools Alliance.

The School has been well resourced, and the site continues to be maintained to a very high standard. The main building comprises seven class bases, hall, kitchen, staffroom, offices, resources room, a library, an Early Years play area and a special needs room. There are a further four classrooms in the Upper School block attached to the Main Building.

The grounds include a playing field, football pitch, netball court, various hard play areas, swimming pool, interactive garden, and a natural conservation area. We also have an adventure trail, several climbing frames and a tyre park.

In addition a community pre-school, “Tree Tots”, operates from our grounds and we run our own Woodland Club which offers before-school, after-school and holiday care for our families. We run a childcare voucher scheme for our staff which can use to fund any Ofsted approved childcare provision.  This is run from our School House.

A very successful Ofsted inspection took place in June 2013 and we were delighted to be awarded a grade of “Good”. We are now working hard towards gaining “Outstanding” status .

Our staff work very closely as a team, both teaching and Associate staff and we provide a supportive, nurturing environment for all our pupils where every child matters.
